The difference between three different wipes on the market

At present, there are three main wipes on the market, namely ordinary wipes, sanitary wipes and disinfection wipes. These three wipes have many differences in raw materials, disinfection ingredients, disinfection functions, reference standards and applicable scope. To this end, the China Detergent Industry Association provides specific standards to distinguish three types of wipes:

Ordinary wet wipes mainly take non-woven fabric, fabric, dust-free paper as the carrier, add the right amount of production water and non-disinfection ingredients, and have a cleaning effect on the treatment of wet wipes. Suitable for cleaning hands, skin and surfaces. At present, ordinary wipes are still produced and operated in accordance with the third type of disinfection products, and the implementation standards are GB/T27728-2011 "Wipes" and GB15979-2002 "Hygiene Standard for Disposable Sanitary Products". Common wipes need to meet the standard requirements of microbial indicators, but do not need to kill microbial indicators, mainly used for cleaning, no anti-bacteriostatic disinfection effect.

Sanitary wipes are mainly based on non-woven fabric, fabric, wood pulp composite cloth, wood pulp paper as the carrier, adding an appropriate amount of production water, disinfectants and other raw materials, to treat the object (such as hands, skin, mucous membranes, surface of common objects) has a cleaning and sterilization effect. In addition to the implementation of GB15979-2002 "Hygiene Standard for Disposable Sanitary Products" and WS575-2017 "Hygiene Requirements for Sanitary wipes", sanitary wipes are produced and operated in accordance with the third type of disinfection products. Sanitary wipes have clear requirements on microbial index and microbial killing index, but the disinfection raw materials added are different from the disinfection wipes according to the different purpose of use.

Disinfection wipes mainly use non-woven cloth, fabric, dust-free paper and other raw materials as the carrier, purified water for production water, appropriate amount of disinfectant and other raw materials, suitable for human body, general objects, medical equipment and other objects surface. Compared with sanitary wipes, disinfection wipes have stricter microbiological and bactericidal indexes. The total number of bacterial colonies, coliform colonies, pathogenic purulent bacteria and fungal colonies were not detected. The kill rate of E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus is greater than or equal to 99.999%, and the kill rate of Candida albicans should be greater than or equal to 99.999% if the product is stated to affect fungi. Disinfection wipes are more likely to be medical supplies, which should follow the principle of cleaning and disinfection without obvious contamination.
